Martina Finetti is a translational genomics specialist with over 15 years of experience leading research into oncology, precision medicine, and rare disease. She currently leads biomarker discovery and data-driven patient stratification strategies to support more personalised treatment approaches in cancer within the biotech sector. Martina has spent over 12 years conducting academic research, including roles at Newcastle University, the University of Leeds, and the non-profit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the U.S.

Alongside her scientific career, Martina has been living with chronic pain and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) for over two years. This personal journey has deepened her commitment to patient advocacy and fuels her passion for bridging cutting-edge science with compassionate care. As a trustee, she brings both her professional expertise and lived experience to support Pain UK’s mission of empowering people affected by chronic pain.
